Practice Departure – Dr. Lorna Hruby

Dear Patients,

We wish to inform you that Dr. Lorna Hruby will be departing Cambie Village Family Practice at the end of April in her move to Calgary to be closer to her family.  She has been such an incredible asset to us over the past 7 years and we will miss her dearly.  She has the following words to share with you:

“I will be leaving BC at the end of April – on to the next chapter of my life.  As I have told many of you, I have always felt honoured and fortunate to have work that I love, and your trust as I have provided medical care for you.  Cambie Village Family Practice is an excellent clinic and I will truly miss all my patients, and my wonderful colleagues and staff.”

In wishing Dr. Hruby all the best in her new transition, we are thrilled to announce that Dr. Quinn Harris will be joining the practice as of May 1st, working initially on Wednesday afternoon/evening shifts.  She will be expanding to 3 days a week (Tuesday afternoon/evenings, and Fridays) as of September 1st and will be available to see all of Dr. Hruby’s former patients.  Dr. Harris is a UBC Medical School and Family Practice graduate, originally from Kamloops, and has been working in various practice settings in Vancouver before coming on board.  She has also done elective training with Dr. Janet Ip during her residency, and we are confident she will be a fabulous addition to our team.

We are fortunate that Dr. Joy Qiao will be locuming for us during the month of May, seeing Dr. Hruby’s patients on Tuesday afternoon/evening shifts and Fridays.  Dr. Qiao is a family physician with special interest in dermatology and minor surgical procedures including IUD insertions.  She is a UBC Medical School and University of Calgary Family Practice graduate with additional dermoscopy training with Cardiff University and the Membership Course with the Australian Institute of Dermatology.

Dr. Wilson Marhin has also made himself available as of last week to all of our patients on Wednesdays for virtual consults.

During this transition, we are confident that your medical needs will continue to be met at the highest calibre by our team and without interruption.  Please note that our other regular physicians have full practices and do not have space to take on more patients.

Sincerely,

Dr. Janet Ip, Dr. Lorna Hruby
